WebInservice from MC Strategies, Inc. Becomes the First Healthcare e-Learning Provider to Have Content Certified by the ASTD Certification Institute
by Anonymous

Atlanta, GA June 10, 2003 -- A pioneer in technology-based learning solutions, MC Strategies’ WebInservice® Division recently became the first healthcare e-learning provider to have a course certified by the E-Learning Courseware Certification (ECC) Program of the American Society for Training & Development’s (ASTD) Certification Institute. WebInservice developed the healthcare industry’s first e-learning solution and the industry's first Knowledge Deployment System – KDS®. The first WebInservice course to receive certification is their JCAHO content. The company’s entire library of nearly 5,000 lessons is being submitted for certification review.

Designed for asynchronous Web-based and multimedia courses, the E-Learning Courseware Certification (ECC) Program recognizes courses that excel in usability and instructional design. The ECC is the first program established to evaluate the compatibility, interface, and instructional design of e-learning courseware. A paperless operation, the ECC is also the first program to have a workflow tool and reporting tool that is completely Web-based.

“We were pleased that a company as large as MC Strategies would take the initiative to verify the instructional quality of their e-learning courseware. We look forward to working with them and reviewing their entire library of e-learning courses,” said Darin Hartley, Director, E-Learning Courseware Certification Program.

“We take pride in being the first healthcare company to have an e-learning course certified by ASTD,” said Maribel Rodriguez-Brogden, Manager of Content Acquisition and Project Management at MC Strategies, Inc. “After our entire course library is certified by an independent institute, our clients will be assured they are receiving the very best training solutions,” Ms. Rodriguez-Brogden added.

WebInservice and the WebInservice KDS combine a robust e-learning system with an Internet-based learning management platform and events management system. This powerful combination enables healthcare organizations to set organization-wide training goals; systematically deploy and track training throughout the organization; and determine return on investment (ROI) to justify value and provide direction for ongoing training initiatives.

The WebInservice learning content library includes nearly 5,000 expert-authored lessons, many of which have been created in partnership with healthcare’s top professional accreditation associations, to meet clients’ enterprise-wide mission critical training needs.

About the ASTD Certification Institute
Based on requests from members, the American Society for Training & Development’s (ASTD) Certification Institute was formed to set professional standards/industry standards for courseware development. The program helps training professionals choose the right courseware from among the 650,000 e-learning courses available today. The ASTD Certification Institute’s E-Learning Courseware Certification (ECC) Program evaluates the instructional design and usability factors of asynchronous Web-based and multimedia courseware.
